Two separate promises. The warranty says what we undertake the translation to be, and what happens if it is not. Authenticity is the means by which anyone — you, a registrar, opposing counsel — can confirm a document presented as ours actually is.
What we warrant
Of every certified translation we deliver, three things:
- Accuracy. The translation says what the source says. Terminology is correct for the field and the jurisdiction, and nothing is rendered by inference where the source is explicit.
- Completeness. The whole document, including stamps, seals, marginal annotations, endorsements and anything printed on the reverse. Nothing summarised, nothing omitted as unimportant.
- The right certification form. The statement, the stamp and the accompanying apparatus in the form the destination you named requires — which is why we ask where the document is going.
Limits of the warranty
What we undertake is precise: the translation will not be the reason for a refusal — where it is, the remedy below applies without argument. Acceptance itself belongs to the receiving institution, whose requirements change and whose reasons may lie outside language altogether. What we undertake is narrower and enforceable — that the translation will not be the reason for a refusal. Where it is, the remedy below applies without argument.
For how long
- Fourteen days from completion to raise a fault, through your order portal or by email.
- Forty-five days from delivery to download the files, after which they are permanently deleted.
- The order record and its verification code are kept indefinitely, so a translation delivered years ago can still be confirmed as ours.
What you get if we are wrong
Correction at no charge, for as long as it takes to be right. We do not limit the number of rounds where the fault is ours, and we do not ask you to demonstrate that the error was serious enough to qualify.
Where correction cannot serve the purpose — the deadline has passed, the filing is closed — a full refund instead. EnLatin has never missed a deadline. If one is ever missed, you are notified immediately with a reason note, and the choice is yours: a full refund initiated immediately, or a 24-hour deadline extension.
Our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. The full terms · how refunds work.
What the warranty does not cover
- A rendering you instructed us to use against our advice, noted on the order at the time.
- A source page we told you was illegible or incomplete before starting, and which you asked us to proceed with anyway.
- A refusal caused by the underlying document, a missing apostille, or a requirement the office introduced after delivery.
- Preference. Where a rendering is accurate and the register correct, a different word you would have chosen is not a fault — though we will explain the choice.
How a translation is proved to be ours
Three things travel with every certified translation, and each can be checked independently of the others.
- A named signatory. The certification names the philologist who performed the work — a person, not a company — so there is someone who can be asked about it afterwards.
- The EnLatin stamp, applied to the certified document.
- A verification code in the form
EL-XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX, printed on the document itself.
Entering that code at our verification page confirms the order exists and shows its language pair, page count and delivery date. It requires no account and no contact with us, which is the point: a certification that must be taken on trust proves nothing.
It also works the other way. A document presented as ours that does not verify is not ours. If you are an institution and a code fails, send us the document and we will tell you what we find.
What verification does not show is the document or anything in it. Those belong to the client, not to whoever is holding the code.
Raising a claim
Through your order portal, which is fastest, or by writing to salve@enlatin.net with the order code. Tell us what is wrong and, where an authority is involved, what they told you. Urgent matters are answered within an hour or two, around the clock; everything else within a day.
EnLatin is certified to ISO 17100:2015 for translation services (TÜV SÜD, certificate No. 9931000357) and to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for information security management (TÜV NORD, certificate No. 44121231258).
Our commitments in plain terms
- Cancellation. An order may be cancelled for a full refund within fifteen minutes of payment, from your order portal. After that window the work is assigned and the order runs to delivery.
- Auto-approval. A delivered translation is treated as accepted three days after delivery unless you request changes or raise a concern in that period.
- Changes. You may request changes within fourteen days of delivery, while the change window is open — including one retry after a rejected request. Delivery files remain available for forty-five days after delivery and are then deleted from our servers under our ISO/IEC 27001 retention policy.
- Download links. Signed download links expire fourteen days after issue; request a fresh link from your portal at any time within the retention period.
- If our work is at fault. Where a receiving authority refuses a translation because of the quality or certification form of our work, send us its written reason within thirty days and we will correct it or refund it in full.
