A certified translation is a professionally translated document accompanied by a signed certification of accuracy, a signed statement of truth, and EnLatin stamp carrying a verifiable order code that lets the receiving authority verify it directly with EnLatin.
When you need certified translation
Most official processes require a certified translation. Common situations include university applications, immigration filings, court submissions, business registrations, and employment verification.
If the receiving authority asks for a "certified translation," "translation with certificate of accuracy," or "official translation," this is the service you need.
What you actually receive
Four things arrive with every certified translation, and the third is the one almost nobody else offers.
- Two signed statements — a signed certification of accuracy by the senior philologist who certified the work, and a signed statement of truth by the translator, attesting that the translation is complete and accurate, standing behind the process. Two named people, each accountable for their part; Alongside are their localized versions for the receiving non-English bodies so that they can read them on the spot.
- The EnLatin stamp — carrying the order code, applied to the delivered document, signifying ownership of the craft and confirming responsibilities of the work.
- An order code anyone can check — in the form EL-140624-1758-02ee9cd7. The officer holding your translation can confirm that the order exists, when it was delivered, and that the work is ours by entering it at our verification page, without involving you in back-and-forth communication.
How the work is done
- Translated by a credentialed specialist in given document type and language pair — never machine-generated, and never subcontracted to an unknown hand.
- Read twice more before it leaves: by a reviewer checking accuracy and consistency, then by a senior philologist confirming the certification meets the receiving authority’s requirements. This is the process certified under ISO 17100:2015 (TÜV SÜD, certificate No. 9931000357), which requires the second reader. The third is ours.
- Rendered to follow the original — its structure, its seals and annotations, its stamps — so the two documents can be read side by side.
- Handled under ISO/IEC 27001:2022 information security management (TÜV NORD, certificate No. 44121231258): encrypted in transit and at rest, seen only by those assigned to it, deleted 45 days after delivery or earlier on request. Both certificates are checkable in the certifiers’ own databases, linked from our about page.
- Read before it is begun. If anything in your file is likely to cause a refusal — a missing page, a certification level your office will not accept — we tell you first. If we cannot responsibly take it on, you are refunded in full, immediately.
The scope of our undertaking
Our work is acceptable worldwide. Some institutions add formalities of their own — a sworn translation, a notarization or an apostille — and we tell you which applies before you order. And if a document is refused because of the quality or the certification form of our work, send us the authority’s written reason within thirty days and we will correct it at no charge or refund the order.
We do not use machine translation for certified work, at any stage. Certification means a named human being stands behind the rendering and can be held to it, and that is not a thing a model can do.
How pricing works
Certified translation is priced per page at the rate for that document type, confirmed at checkout before any charge. Certification itself — the statement, the stamp, the verifiable code — is included as standard and never an added charge. Volume discounts apply automatically: 5% from three pages, rising to 25% at seven or more.
Every seventh approved page earns you a free page voucher, which is sent to you via email. Transferable: Anyone can use it—including someone you share it with who needs a translation but can’t afford it. We’d rather it be used than left unused.
How to prepare your file
- Send the complete document, every page and both sides, including anything that looks like apparatus: stamps, seals, revenue stickers, marginal notes, reference numbers.
- Whatever form you have it in is welcome — an official PDF you received, a scan, a phone photograph — so long as the whole sheet can be read.
- Tell us the receiving office and country, so we can confirm certification is the right level before you pay for something more.
- Send the spelling of your name as your identity document shows it, so the two match.

For the great majority, yes — a certified translation is precisely what they specify. USCIS requires it and does not require notarization. How does the receiving office verify my translation?
They enter the order code from the document at enlatin.net/en/verify. It confirms the order exists, its language pair, page count, delivery date, and the initials of the person to whom it was delivered. There is no need for an account, contact with us, or involvement from you. Every lookup is logged with a timestamp for audit transparency.
How long does a certified translation take?
Documents are delivered by your chosen deadline, confirmed at checkout before any charge. Shorter deadlines exist for when you need it sooner, longer deadlines cost less when you don't — with same-day and 24-hour delivery available if you're in a hurry.
