The questions we are actually asked, answered without hedging. Questions about a particular kind of document are answered on that document’s own page.
Pricing and payment
How is the price calculated?
Certified translation is priced per page at the rate for that document type. Uncertified professional translation is priced per word, with a floor equal to one standard page. Turnaround adds a percentage where you choose a faster tier; the standard tier adds nothing. Everything is shown on the order page before you pay, and the total confirmed at payment is the total charged — no VAT added afterwards, no handling fee, nothing at the end that was not at the beginning.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, processed by PayU/Prosus, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider group. EnLatin never sees or stores your card details. Payment is taken in euros; visitors in Türkiye may pay in lira.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, and they apply automatically — you do not have to ask, and there is no code to find. From three pages: 5%. Four: 10%. Five: 15%. Six: 20%. Seven or more: 25%.
What is the free page ticket?
Every seventh certified page earns a free page ticket, sent to you by email. It is transferable: it can be redeemed by anyone, including someone who needs a translation and cannot afford one. We would rather it was used than expire.
Turnaround and delivery
How long will my translation take?
You choose the tier: five business days as standard, or four, three, two, twenty-four hours, or same-day before 16:00 in your own time zone. The clock starts when payment is confirmed and the document is legible — if a file cannot be read, we tell you at once and the clock waits. In practice most single documents arrive within a few hours, well inside the tier you bought. Full delivery terms here.
What happens if you miss the deadline?
You hear from us immediately, with the actual cause named rather than "unforeseen circumstances". Then the choice is yours: let us finish, with a new time we can meet — or take a full refund at once, with no deduction for work done and no justification asked for.
How do I receive my translation?
Through your order portal, reached by the signed link in your confirmation email. You are notified the moment it is ready. You can read it there, download it, message us, request changes, or approve it. The receiving institution can verify it independently by its order code at our verification page, without contacting us and without your involvement.
What if I need changes after delivery?
You have three days from delivery to approve the translation, after which it is approved automatically. From completion you then have fourteen days to request changes through the portal. The first correction round for a genuine error is free — not as a courtesy, but because it is owed.
How long can I download my translation?
Downloads stay available for 45 days after delivery. At day 45 every file is deleted — your source document, the translation, and everything derived from it. Only the forensic record of the order is retained: what was ordered, when, by whom, and the verification code. That record is what lets a receiving institution verify your translation years later, when the files themselves are long gone.
Confidentiality and security
Is my information secure?
EnLatin holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for information security management (TÜV NORD, certificate No. 44121231258) — audited, not asserted. Files travel over encrypted connections and are stored encrypted; access is limited to those assigned to your order; card processing is handled entirely by PayU/Prosus at PCI-DSS Level 1. We set no cookies, run no analytics, and use no advertising trackers.
How long do you keep my documents?
45 days after delivery, then permanent deletion of every file. You may request earlier deletion at any time and it will be done.
Who sees my documents?
The specialist who translates, the reviser who checks, and the senior philologist who certifies — nobody else. All are bound by non-disclosure. Your documents are never shared, sold, used as samples, or shown to anyone outside that chain.
Certification
What is the difference between certified, sworn, and professional translation?
Certified — a signed statement of accuracy naming the philologist, our stamp, and a verifiable order code. This is what most institutions mean by "official translation". Sworn — made by a translator registered with a court or ministry, required in certain jurisdictions as a matter of the translator’s legal standing rather than the quality of the work. Professional — accurate translation without certification, for internal use, drafts, or anything nobody has asked to be certified. The distinction in full.
Which languages do you work with?
Ten, in any direction between them: English, German, Greek, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, and Latin. Certification applies in every direction, not only into English. Ancient Greek is handled at the same desk as Latin.
Will a certified translation be accepted by my university or government office?
For the great majority, yes — a certified translation is what they specify, and ours carries everything they ask for. But no translator can promise what a particular office will do, and any who does is guessing on your behalf. Tell us which office it is and we will say plainly what it requires, before you order. The guide by receiving authority covers the common ones.
Can you provide an apostille or notarization?
No, and nobody in translation can. An apostille is issued by a designated government authority in the country where the document originated; a notarization is performed by a notary. Neither is ours to sell, and anyone offering to sell you one is selling an intermediary service rather than the certificate. What we do is translate them: an apostille attached to your document is translated along with it, with its register reference and verification details carried across intact. How the three differ.
If something goes wrong
My translation was refused by the receiving office.
Send us the authority’s written reason within thirty days. If ours was the cause — the quality of the work or the form of the certification — we correct it at no charge or refund the order. We ask for the written reason because it tells us what to fix, and because a remedy requiring no evidence protects nobody.
I made a mistake in my order.
Tell us. Within fifteen minutes of payment you can cancel outright from your order page for a full refund. After that, message us through the portal — if work has not begun we will sort it out, and if the document turns out to be something other than what was ordered we tell you before starting rather than silently re-scoping it.
You cannot take my document.
It happens, and we say so rather than trying. Where a file cannot be responsibly translated — illegible beyond recovery, or requiring a competence we do not have — you are refunded in full, immediately, and we will tell you honestly what kind of specialist you actually need.
